Why it matters
A shop may charge different prices depending on parts quality, local labor rates, diagnostic work and vehicle configuration.
Price estimates are educational calculations, not professional diagnoses or guarantees.
Repair cost calculator
Start with your Wrangler brake repair or enter any parts-and-labor quote.
⚡ Smart setup & automatic calculations
Select a repair to load its item list, then edit prices using a parts listing or mechanic estimate. Calculations update while you type and your draft is saved on this device.
Example values are illustrative, not verified parts prices or standard labor times. Tax is modeled on parts only; your local rules may differ.
Price research notes
Found a parts price online? Add the confirmed cost to your calculation. Record shipping and core charges under Fees if relevant.

Apples-to-apples repair comparison
Fill in the scope from each shop's written estimate. Different work, parts, or coverage can make the lower number misleading.
This checks only the information you enter. Two similarly worded descriptions may still differ in specific part numbers, quantities, shop labor, or coverage.
Confirm each quote includes identical work, parts grades, warranty, fees and tax.
Questions to ask your mechanic
Get a ready-to-use checklist tailored to your repair. Helps you verify why a part was changed and exactly what the price covers.
📷 Smart Receipt Scanner
Take a photo or choose a receipt image. The scanner reads text, checks itemized math, and helps compare the total with your own researched price range.
Important: A receipt adding up correctly does not mean the shop price is fair. Compare against a credible market estimate before making a deal judgment.
Image recognition runs in your browser after the OCR library loads. The photo is not sent to AutoRepair IQ's server. Recognition can make mistakes: verify the text, line items, taxes and total before using results. No live fair-market pricing is provided.
What the scanner can verify
It can check extracted totals and classify readable line items, but it cannot prove a price is fair without verified local parts and labor data. Always compare the same parts, work, warranty, fees, and taxes before deciding.
⚡ Paste & analyze a mechanic quote
Copy line items from an estimate or invoice. AutoRepair IQ can identify amounts, check the arithmetic, and populate Shop A after you review them. Runs on your device; nothing is uploaded.
📄 Upload a mechanic quote or receipt
Choose a PDF estimate, invoice, or receipt, including a scanned PDF. You can also choose a saved text file. Review the extracted amounts before comparing prices.
Compare extracted amounts against the original. The preview uses a temporary local file URL; it does not upload the PDF.
Show original PDF preview
If the preview is unavailable on your device, use Open original PDF above.
Important: On long invoices, only the first five pages are analyzed and transferring a partial invoice is blocked. Supports text PDFs and up to 5 pages of scanned PDFs (OCR on image-only pages). 12 MB maximum. Scanned PDF pages always require manual review before transfer. Extracted figures may be inaccurate, especially in tables or faint scans. Check the original quote before approving costs.
Save a mechanic quote for later
Import a PDF above, scan a photo, or paste text. Unsupported lines stay visible for manual review. Arithmetic checks do not verify fair-market prices.
Itemized quote checker
Check that the parts, labor, fees, and tax add up to the price your mechanic quoted.
Labor cost inspector
Check the labor portion of a repair quote without guessing a fair price. Use the repair hours and hourly rates shown by the mechanic, or research your own range.
Labor rate research log
Save real hourly-rate quotes from local shops. Compare recent observations and transfer a researched range with one tap. These are your entries, not live verified prices.
Rates can vary by repair, vehicle, region, and shop. Ask whether diagnostic time, flat-rate labor, fees, and taxes are included. Entries older than 30 days are excluded from the transferred range.
An effective hourly rate is not proof of overcharging: flat-rate labor guides, diagnostic fees, minimum charges, and job complexity affect bills. No market labor rates are supplied automatically.
Repair price range builder
Build a transparent low-to-high cost range from parts listings and labor estimates you research. This is not a live market-price feed or an automatic fair-price verdict.
Price comparison readiness
See what evidence supports your estimate and what still needs checking before you rely on it.
Formula: parts + (hours × hourly rate) + fees + modeled tax on parts. Confirm estimates, warranties, fitment and any additional charges before approving a repair. Values are saved in this browser.

Visual Auto Parts Explorer
Search a part or system to see what it does, where it is located, common symptoms, and a reference photo when available. Includes 88 common parts across vehicle systems; exact part fitment and 2027 model data depend on published manufacturer information.
Search for a part to see its explanation and photo reference.
Photos are reference examples, not guaranteed to match your exact vehicle. No manufacturer diagrams, exact fitment, or live prices are claimed. Search works offline; reference photos require an internet connection.
Find parts to price-check
Open supplier search pages and compare real listings. Always confirm fitment, engine, trim and brake configuration.
Vehicle-specific parts search
Builds a search using your saved vehicle and selected part. Results open at a search engine; fitment and live prices must be confirmed with the retailer.
Parts price notebook
Record prices from actual supplier listings, including quantity, shipping, and source. Compare matching part conditions and quantities from different sellers. These are your saved observations, not automatically verified live offers.
Quick capture from a supplier listing
Copy and paste a product title and price from a supplier website. AutoRepair IQ will suggest values for the notebook. Nothing is saved until you review and tap Save observed price.
Research entries older than 30 days (or with unknown dates) are marked stale and excluded from transfer. Recheck prices with the seller and save a fresh observation. All totals exclude sales tax unless you add tax in the price-range builder. Compare the same exact part, quantity, quality, fitment and shipping terms. Different suppliers may include core charges or deposits.

On a phone, take a photo of the windshield VIN plate or driver-door label, or choose an existing picture.
